Got a dreaded flyer through the mail while I was away for the weekend I was on the phone to my Gran so browsed through it. Aldi are starting doing organic stuff - just wondered if anyone had tried anything yet. It's advertised for this week so I don't know if it is in store just yet.

They've been doing organic bananas for ages. Mind you there's no noticeable difference between the organic and non-organic ones.Stompa0

My email newletter mentioned an organic beer for £1.29. :beer:0

 yes I seen that too I was going to try some this weekend to test drive it0

Does anybody know if the organic rice is brown or white? It's 18 minutes cooking time and hard to tell from the online pic.
Do these food specials then become regular items?

I would guess they are using these specials to test the market. If there is a good take up, they'll probably stock more of it. I'm off there in a bit to get some beer & coffee.0

We only have Lidl in Northern Ireland so far and they don't have any organic produce. What about Lidl on the mainland?? Any organic produce there?0

No Organic stuff in Lidl as far as I know on the mainland. Would be great FANTASTIC if Lidl did this because their food would be very cheap/low cost. They will sooner or later because more and more people are going organic. I have stopped buying stuff from Lidl because I have gone as organic as I can afford. I have cut out other life luxuries for this and many others .
Possibly 3years time I guess.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Except for the fact they have vastly reduced chemical pollution count.
Just because you can't see/taste a difference doesn't mean there isn't one.
As for the rice I'd imagine it's white rice at 18min cook time - wholegrain rice requires cooking for 40-60mins.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
Bought some organic tomato juice on Sunday. I have not tried it yet.0

Did my bit last night. Bought rice, pasta, lots of coffee, and a case of beer.0
