Trying to get full package with Sky

Can anyone help me here? I have cable phone line at the moment, but used to have a BT line about two years ago. I want to save money by goint with Sky for all TV, Phone and Broadband and would like to switch before Christmas, but I need a BT phone line and it is going to cost me £125. The money to reconnect sticks in my throat but would be willing to pay, but I would then need to stay with BT for 18 months so it is defeating the purpose of switching. I am not a miserable person, but hate being held to ransom by the big companies. Is there anything I can do. Cannot get Virgin Digital TV in my area, so am limited to my options. We have Sky + and multiroom, which in my view was sent straight from heaven, and I dont want to lose that. Anyone got any suggestions to help me here?

Ask Sky to install/reconnect your phone line. It is they, not BT, who would be holding you to ransom.

(And the 18 month contract is only if you want free connection with BT, surely? It is only 12 months if you want to pay the £125. And you can leave after 1 month if you like - just pay the 11 month cancellation fee.)

Really? Did you read the first page of this forum before posting?

In any case you dont need to get BT to connect a phone line to get Sky TV ,Talk, and Broadband.

    See their site. I quote:

"If you are a new Sky TV customer and subscribe to Sky Talk Line Rental and a Sky Talk calls package and you don't have an existing BT line, we can arrange installation of a new line. We will inform you of the installation charge when you place your Sky TV and Sky Talk order."
