Egg Balance Transfers

I am with egg and am thinking of transferring the debt to my parents and then back again. But before I do this, do you know what deal they will offer an existing customer for a balance transfer into them?

Also, if I transfer away, are Egg known to reduce your credit limit in the process?

Thanks,

Steve

I have just been offered the not terribly good 5.9% for 6 months with a 2.9% fee !!

Not particularly good but better that the Nat West 10.99% with no fee for 6 months, both would be okish if they were for a year but for 6 months they are poor.

Both offers on cards that have a nil balance, I have a £6k limit and they have not reduced it since I cleared the balance 3 months ago

Anyone know if you can negotiate with Egg and if so the best way, ie secore message, email etc

    Bad luck.

Have you considered applying for a 0% BT card?
To help you further, we would need to know which cards you have at the mo or have held recently. Also, whether you've applied for any unsuccessfully

  • I don't qualify, already tried. So I am transferring some debt to cards that my parents have taken out. They have 2 with zero balance. I want to juggle the others to get the rates down.

Worked out how to save a fair bit, but would be nice if I could get some better deals!

Once you've cleared your Egg balance (either yourself or courtesy of your parents' BT cards), the chances of Egg offering promo rates would be much improved ;)
