Guttering problems

Hi, Im a novice, so unsure of what to do. But as the weather has been very wet and miserable of late, my guttering from the front of the house and the back of the house is overflowing and leaking significantly, when it's raining.
I guess I need to get my guttering cleaned out??, can anyone quotes costs, how much it will approx cost, so I know that I dont get ripped of and also what the possible problem could be?

Many Thanks

If you have a window cleaner, try him first. Mine has a big suction pole thingy, which he runs along the gutter and it sucks out all the leaves and debris. He charges about £20 per house.

There could be more to it. If it's plastic, the rubber seals perish over time and leak or the down pipes could be blocked with debris.

If the guttering is sound, then a days work at max to disconnect the down pipes and clear the gutter is all that is required - £100 to £130.

Guttering usually blocks on the 'swan neck' this is the part that connects the actual guttering and the down pipe although debris does collect the whole length of the gutter so wise to do the lot while your at it. Is it a normal two storey house? because all you will need is a ladder a bucket and a length of wire to loosen the debris in the 'swan neck'

If not, like has been mentioned, ask your window cleaner.

I had lots of trouble with the guttering in my last house but could do little about it.
It was your general two bed wimpey rubbish, at the rear of the house i had the downpipe, but at the front it was next door of the semi.
When i cleaned my gutters, because those next door was still full of muck the water could not run off, so just overflowed. Next door people did nothing, the house was a bin.
