My iron is not really that old but has been well used and dropped etc, and yesterday it was leaking down the sole plate. It is a self clean iron. Is it safe?
Thank you for your help.

Is it leaking from the steam holes? If so it could be that temp is not hot enough and water dribbles out rather than steam.
Does your instruction book have a troubleshooting guide?
Could be that dropping it has caused a problem, especially if dropped more than once. When my DD lived at home I wouldn't let her near my iron after a while, she was forever dropping it, maybe it was a ploy so I'd do her ironing :rotfl: .0 -
Tomsmum - Thank you. The instruction booklet is lost, it seems to be leaking round the soleplate. I know that the temperature was right. I am just a bit worried because it has been dropped, so I am concerned that I have done something drastic.
I have an ironing session planned tonight which I suspect I shall survive, but after that I think I will start pricing up another.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
