Why don't my listings have Buyer Protection?

I've just checked the requirements for Buyer Protection and I think I should have qualified but I haven't.

The only thing I can think of that I use my partner's PayPal account for receiving payments. I am a second user on his account. He has a verified PayPal account.

If this is the case, should I change the email address on my listings to his email address?

When did you qualify for it?

I had to wait about a week before Buyer Protection appeared on my listings.

I've just checked with PayPal (you can check to see if you're eligible), and it says I am.

It goes on automatically if your listing is eligible.

However, because I accept other payment methods along with PayPal, it means that I'm excempt!!

So I either only accept PayPal and get the Buyer Protection or I accept other methods of payment and keep the customers who prefer not to use PayPal!

    What does everyone else do?

I accept PayPal and Postal Orders and still seem to qualify for buyer protection.

Thanks for that Razorbladekisses. What am I doing wrong then? When I look at PayPal it says to only use PayPal as a payment option. Should I just contact them and ask.

The problem is that everyone else selling the kind of things I sell have buyer protection and are getting really good amounts. My sales are no where near the prices they're getting.

I could be wrong but but I'm not sure if the Paypal Protection logo is automatically inserted onto your listings. I seem to remember having to go into my Paypal account, into Profile and having to tick something there to apply it to my future listings.

milliejon, if you meet all the requirements below then definately contact PayPal to find out what is going on.

    Eligibility for PayPal Buyer Protection.

Your listings will automatically display the PayPal Buyer Protection shield if:
    • Your eBay feedback score is at least 50
    • Your eBay positive feedback percentage is at least 98%
    • How is this percentage calculated?
    • You’re a Verified PayPal member
    • You use a Premier or Business PayPal account to accept payments
    • Your account is in good standing

    • You hold a PayPal account in one of these countries:

    - Austria
    - Australia
    - Belgium
    - Canada
    - China
    - France
    - Germany
    - Hong Kong
    - India
    - Ireland - Italy
    - Japan
    - Korea
    - Netherlands
    - Singapore
    - Spain
    - Switzerland
    - Taiwan
    - United Kingdom
    - United States

Eligibility is determined at time of listing on eBay and eligibility requirements may vary based on eBay listing site.

    eBay listing requirements.
    • Select PayPal as a payment option when you list your item
    • Sell a physical item
    • Receive payments to the PayPal account associated with the eBay listing
    • List your item on:

    - ebay.com.at
    - eBay.com.be
    - eBay.ca
    - eBay.com.ch
    - eBay.com
    - eBay.com.au - eBay.co.uk
    - eBay.de
    - eBay.com.es
    - eBay.fr
    - eBay.com.ie
    - eBay.it
    - eBay.com.nl

When I qualified I didn't have to do anything to activate buyer protection, the logo just appeared on my listings. It could well have changed by now but I haven't read about it anywhere.

I hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks for this Razorbladekisses. I've just checked the requirements and I meet them. I will contact PayPal about this.

It's just so annoying, because people who sell the same things as me have this on their listings and make double the amount I make!

One quick question, did you say you put your email address on eBay for payment to be sent to or your partners email address?

My ebay account has my email address, which is the second address on my partner's PayPal account.

Do you think this might be the problem? Should I put his email address on my ebay listings?

Perhaps that is it. His address is obviously marked as the primary address on PayPal. It would be worth putting his email address in and seeing if the buyer protection logo appears.

Have eBay replied to you yet?
