I very rarely drink, so don't have this problem! I have however, got a bottle of mulled wine that someone bought me last Christmas that I have yet to do anything with. I don't think i've ever actually had mulled wine, but the thought of any wine makes me feel sick (first time I got drunk was on wine and it's put me off for life!)
Any ideas? Or will it be 'off' by now anyway?Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

We've a box of white wine and a box of red wine that were so dire to drink, that they live in the kitchen and a glassful goes in most spag bol/lasagne and in gravy/sauces. OH makes a cracking chinese meal and that often calls for wine in the cooking, and he uses the dire stuff for that too. Other than that, the concept of leftover wine, is amazing!:hello:

Thanks Pol for the Chardonnay and cream sauce idea I actually have the same sis-in-law coming for lunch this Saturday, so I could do some chicken in wine and cream sauce then.Would she be able to drive home afterwards though I would worry about it in case she got stopped.0

She should be fine, cooking drives off most of the the alcohol and you're just left with the taste. Hope you enjoy it.37 mrstwins squares, 6 little bags, 16 RWB squares, 1 ladies cardi, 4 boobs, 20 baby hats, 4 xmas stockings, 1 scarf, 4 prs wristwarmers0

Left over white wine is a pretty standard ingredient in risotto, and red can be used to boost any stock for gravy / casserole / stew / pasta sauce.
However, we buy boxes, so we can just have as many or as few glasses as we each want, without "having" to either open or finish a bottleand we also use these for cooking with.

I made this last night with my leftover rose. It was DELICIOUS!!!! :T:j:T:j:T
I highly recommend it. The rose was undrinkable - yet still made delicious jelly. Total win0 -
we brought a lots of cartons of sangria back from Spain once - somehow it doesn't taste as good when you're not in the sunshine! eventually I used it up in casseroles - I'd used half a carton and freeze the other half for another time.weaving through the chaos...0

Perhaps the place for all booze is down the sink. Having spent 28 years married to an alcoholic ( I know I should have left- I have now) I am a little uncomfortable with this thread. I spent the best years of my life trying to stop him by tipping booze down the sink. Anyway I seem like a spoilsport now so I will say goodnight.0
