I'm awful to buy for and OH is awful at shopping so I ussually get my own! Last year I asked him for a digital camera and he spent too much on one that wasn't very good, when I'd have got a great one cheaper as I shop around and read reviews before I buy (this site has ruined me lol) so I just felt bad he'd wasted money. OH jsut goes in the nearest shop and buys what he sees!

This year I think I may try a list (with instructions on where to buy/prices!).

New Terrry Pratchett book (under £10)
Nigella Book, but I'd have to buy this online as OH can't do online shopping!
Boots, but again I'd have to get these as I am fussy and have huge feet! So maybe a voucher for a shoe shop?
June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

    I think that's actually really mean :(

HaHa not at all, the truth is I WAS going to be down loading it prior to xmas & just by luck I hadnt, plus we/he buys c/ds or dvds any day of the week infact he bought himself the new star trek blu ray at the same time for us to watch this weekend & we had a good laugh about it.

Some one mentioned the new terry pratchet book ? does anyone know what its called ? My hubby is a huge fan & has all the other books so i could get this. I'm getting his number plate & a couple of the new ps3 games & true blood/smallville 8 box sets plus I've got a huge desparate dan mug (he drinks pints of tea at a time & a new mug never comes in wrong)

IDEAS for other people, well 2 years i bought him a lovely dalvey sterling silver personalised money clip/card holder & that went down well or another xmas he got a proper radio controlled helicopter, again this was much appreciated. Also when we were on hols this year we got those little silver bullet indoor micro flying helicopters & they are ace.. great fun so that could be an idea for the boys. Also there are loads of "stig" stuff on the go this year so i'll get a novelty stig item i think.

    TELL HIM HOW YOU FEEL!!!

Seriously, you can decorate rooms any time. Just explain to hom that little gifts would mean a lot. You don't both have to spend a fortune, just set a small manageable budget.

I understand how both of you feel, decorating costs a fortune & some of my family members do joint gifts to each other of say new conservatory furniture or whatever it is they need for the house that year, however we have never really bought house stuff as presents, i have suggested it but hubby doesnt believe in it. Personally i'd suggest to your o/h set a budget ie 30 or 50 quid each & the challenge is to buy as many wee novelty gifts for that amount of money so you each have wee fun personal stuff to open but havent spent an awful amount of money, we have done this in past years when we were very strapped financially & it was fun with lots of little nik naks to open.

The Terry Pratchett book is "Unseen Academicals".

For the person who wanted True Blood books - www.thebookpeople.co.uk have a set of the first eight books for about £8.99 for the set- any you don't want would make a nice present for someone as they are usually about £6.99 each.

I had to go to hospital unexpectly two weeeks ago and spent a week there so got my Christmas present early- three pairs of nice pjs, a dressing gown and slippers. I bought myself some books by my favourite authors and hid them away for my family to give me for Christmas.

Have told DDs and DH that I will be doing all present shopping online this year as I am not up to going shopping for stuff.
