Reading a news story about some big BTL landlord who apparently is late paying by cheque due to the postal strike.
Does anyone pay their mortgage by cheque?
I'd have thought it'd been in the rules to be a direct bank payment...

this is the wilsons,,, no i dont believe he pays by cheque for god knows how many properties he has, thats ridiculous, i mean many shops dont even take cheques nowadays, so is a bank going to tolerate adminstration of that kind for huge mortgages, i dont think so0

Also - the banks would not threaten repossession on one missed payment. My guess is they are approaching 3 months behind now.0

Yep, the cheques wouldn't have been delayed for three months. Plus, he says he has received the final demand notices, which were also sent by post but somehow not delayed.
He says he owns hundreds of houses, there's no way he could co-ordinate paying them all by cheque - they must be on direct debits.poppy100
