Used Car Deposit
Hey Guys,
Bit of advice needed, i signed a used car order form on the weekend for a used fiesta, i paid no deposit for the car, it was going to be placed on finance and they we're taking mine in on part exchange. I have changed my mind over the weekend after looking over the dealers figures. Can i just simply cancel the order with the garage with no penalties? I was not reffered to any terms and conditions from the garage and have not signed any finance forms as of yet. Could i just simply cancel the vehicle no questions asked?
Cheers
Dan

Call them and explain your feelings.
You signed a used car order form you say. That sounds like a contract to me. But as I said, call them and discuss the matter."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
As above you have signed a contract, technically they could take you to court and claim for any Loss incurred keeping the car off sale for you. (Where there not T+C's attached to the contract?)However they won't as the hassle isn't worth the potential reward. Call them and cancel it. This is why all dealers should take a deposit and big one at that as its much more effective way of stopping people waste your time.0
