1)do a windows update
2)do spyware/adware & virus scan in safe-mode
3)do an online virus scan using:
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Just wondering... wouldn't it be easier to back up everything and then do a fresh install? cos it might be not a virus but conflicts of some software.. plus if there is indeed a virus, it might not be possible to remove...0

yeh, but thats last resourt... mite as wear out all the other resources first... then format cos you'l have to install everything again... take round 2 days and alot of people dont have the time... if you go work during the day, it'l take 3-4 days to format and install everything you need0
