Sorry for being AWOL. Things have been hectic here.
thanks for your kind words pink. I am used to living very frugally as before me and OH got together I had been left with a very big mortgage and a very low wage so I am not too worried about me adjusting. I am more worried about OH adjusting. He is already more concerned that his second skiing holiday at the end of March is in jeopardy! I havent had a holiday for five yearsso I find his thinking hard to understand.I guess that is the bit that is concerning me more than the living on a reduced budget.
Hope that all is well with you. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Hi cherisong, thank you for updating us
Do you and your OH not go on holidays together? (I've never understood skiing holidays myself, I'd rather pay to go somewhere WARM).
Things are going well here, although we have broken the rules (again!) but this time, it's not on frivolous things. My OH and I talked about it at length, and we felt that it will push us towards where we want to be, and it seems a shame to lose one whole year just out of stubbornness. So OH have been very busy building me some raised bedsI've been updating the blog with photos, and hopefully, this afternoon, it'll be all done. He has been very good and have recycled materials as much as possible, like reusing as much of the plumbing stuff as possible while he moves the outside tap.

Hey it sounds like you are doing really well there. Building beds, moving taps. Wow such industriousness. I need to get off my backside and do something. I have just listed 5 items on ebay. I have been threatening to do it for ages but finally got there.
We do have long weekend breaks together and we go to the Proms in London several times through the summer. We have only been together for a couple of years and living together for just about a year now. He always goes skiing with his friend (both were single for a long time and it is a boys week away) I was invited this year but, like you, I just dont get it. I wont go on holiday until I can pay for it in cash and I really like beach holidays. Also I have difficulty getting my Great Dane looked after so I prefer to take short breaks here.
Edited to ask if you can post link to your blog or point my in that direction. I am intrigued by blogs. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. lol I can see how it would be difficult to find someone to baby sit a Great Dane! We can't go on holidays at the moment as one of our cats is going senile and starts pulling out her fur (out of loneliness & stress) if we are out of the house over night. So one of us have to always stay at home, even at Christmas (yes I did spend last Christmas on my own for the sake of the kitty!)
I can't post a link on here for the blog as it's against board rules, but if you click on my user name, it'll give you an option that says "Visit pink_number's homepage!" that link should take you to it
woooo going to the proms! lovelyThere isn't anything half as sophisticated up here.
p.s. I didn't make the beds or the taps, I just supplied coffees and meals for the OH and went "ohhhhhh, ahhhhhh that looks so fab"0 -
Hi everyone, how is March going for you?
I am totally made up at the moment, as I have just been given a second compost bin from a friend, who thought she had already given it away but then found it at her house! woooppppyyy! (Never thought I'd be so happy about a compost bin!)
I've had to buy a new set of bokashi bins as 2 bins are not enough for us. We produce a lot of compostable stuff because we drink carrot & apple juice almost daily. I'd rather buy new bins than see potential compost material been given to the local council!
We're surrounded by lots of little seedlings at the moment, I've been checking up on them every few seconds...
Hope everyone's well, would love to hear how you are doing0
