  • remember that glitter is harmful for birds and other animals that are likely to eat the oats!

You can use coloured sugar crystals or ediible glitter or even hundreds and thousands which are all a safer alternative for animals!

  • I bought 100 grip seal bags 4.5 " x 4.5" for mine got them on e bay about 2 quid including postage.

I used sugar strands instead of glitter too.

Hi Maria, I have made some using cheapie oats and coloured sugar crystals. I coloured the sugar with red and green food colouring and it worked really well.

I coloured sugar with red food colouring too and it looks good, you don't need a lot. I use tesco value oats, a big bag is really cheap. I have used left over cones from my snowman soup but last year I just used value sandwich bags and it was fine.

When you say sugar crystals do you just mean normal granulated sugar? or did you buy something specific?
    Thanks ;)
