I've just drafted up a cover letter for a job application. It is a bit of a change in direction so would you lovely people mid tearing it to shreds...

Also, I have addressed it ti Ms Webster but am not sure this is right. The job spec gives her full name but no indication of whether Mrs, Miss or Ms is appropriate... or do I just put Dear Madam?

    Thank you x

    Dear Ms Webster,

I would like to apply for the Management Accountant position as advertised on totaljobs.com (Job Id: 45807666).

You will see from the attached CV that I have worked largely in corporate tax since graduating in 2003. I have recently come to the end of a period of maternity leave and during this time have reviewed my career choices. I have decided I would like to move into a field that allows me more direct involvement with the runnings of a business than afforded by working as a tax adviser in an accounting firm.

Although I have no specific management accounting experience I have developed the several skills which I believe make me an ideal candidate for the role when coupled with my enthusiasm and desire to deliver the best performance possible in any given situation. These skills include:
    • analysis of data and presentation of conclusions
    • reconciliation of balances
    • analysis of variations
    • collation of quarterly management report including calculation of KPIs
    • project management
    • working to stringent deadlines
    • development of best practice processes
I look forward to hearing from you to arrange an interview.

  • Hugs for B Sally.

Luc - looks good to me, but I'm not the best person to comment! I would stick with the Ms or use her full name.

Strictly was loads better without Brucie but they didn't need Ronnie Corbett.

Going to snooze and practice the no word.
