Of course he will.
If it were me, I would apply for everything and anything-well, I have been made redundant and I am not bothered what I do-saying that, that thinking got me in the mess I am now.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Must be hard for him and you Sally. I know my DH is desperate to get back to work, he loves his job but who knows how long they'll keep it open for him.....time will tell. Is your DH applying for everything and anything or trying to keep to what he knows best? Fingers crossed he finds something soon.
Well DH's so called best friend spouted off a load of twaddle and DH finally told him where to shove his friendship.......I've never liked the bloke but put up with him for DH's sake.
I now have wine and choccy so all is good with the world.....for now at least."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky I think he is applying only for things he knows he can do. He also has to take into account the salary and whether its worth it (terrible and never thought I would be stuck in the benefits trap). I really want him to give it a go working for himself but he isn't interested..and quite frankly if he hasn't got the motivation to do it now then whats the point. It just makes me crossI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I know what you mean about the benefits trap though, we're better off now than we were when DH was able to work.
The motivation to work for yourself is hard, I did it for a while but it took me years to pluck up the courage to start it......something will crop up for you both I'm sure."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Luc, I'll help with the job shop lol
It was an annoying call Snags, cos I was shopping legitimately, and they blocked my Play order for Pint's 360 games, which I had to redo this morning....such a bother! I went through the 7 shops I used, the Paypal stuff and my blimming cash withdrawal. Trust me, finance turning up and the bank thinking it's strange for to shop is a bad combination....and i bought a book i need, big and lovely and about films
BUT loan should be in Weds, am gonna stick to £35 during college days and not take card, and only go to shop if i need to...might help me. And Pint owes me 50 quid which is going into the car fund....
Got my first appointment with my mentor tomorrow, and my DSA Assessment. Worried about both, what does a mentor do? Can they help me get photocopying I can't do cos I can't go in the library (is anathema to the woman drowning in books, but it's big, I get lost and stressed and panic big time)
When I had a DSA assessment it was great, they basically just said 'do you think... would help' and listed a load of stuff. Make sure you're clear on what personal help you're getting though - I was told I could have a notetaker then when I asked for it I was told it wasn't in the plan.
They can def pay for someone to do the photocopying, and they'll pay for the copying too, you'll have to claim it back though. I had that and it was fab, I met the guy with a list of books and page numbers then went for a coffee while he got on with it.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

It's hard Sally. I've always thought I would never get that way but I'. really starting to think seriously about what I apply for. Most jobs are worth more that £45 a week but the longer I stay out of work the more benefits they seem to give you so I keep feeling I deserve some of them!0

Ames - that's brilliant. I know I need a dictaphone, as I'm using a loan one and it's fantastic having it! And a laptop, gonna try for a Mac as I need software that's Mac only. Think a mentor will definitely help, and I'll ask about the extra allowance thing I know they do, as I can't use library to print, I'm dong it from home, and I'll need to buy paper and cartridges** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
