A net search gave the following tow:

    http://www.freelifeintheuk.com/
    http://www.hiren.info/life-in-the-uk-test/1

No idea if they're any good, but they both say free.

Spottycat, if your husband is already a british citizen then I don't think he would need to pass the life in the uk test. You would need it to gain citizenship but not for a passport on it's own. If he was born overseas then for his 1st british passport I think he would need to be interviewed though.
P.S. Nice to see pcombo jump on the daily mail bandwagon at the first opportunity.

some of those quizzes are silly. Who cares what % of people live in Wales for example?
How does that make you a brit more than the next guy?
Why were brits recruiting in the carribbean ...for bus drivers. How useful 30 years later to know that lol

My test is much better, if you can get a passport photo they accept, apply for the PP and get it, then fill out a council tax form properly, and if you can understand Only Fools and Horses...you pass. :)

BTW Owning british businesses can't count for anything, otherwise the French and Germans would all be british ;)

It's the first time I've heard of this. I suspect, looking at the http://www.lifeintheuktest.gov.uk/ website that if I was to ask a random selection of the chavs loitering around town to take it, most of them would fail (well, those that didn't try and stab me for 'disrespecting' them and asking them to do something vaguely academic). Sadly that wouldn't be a reason to boot them out though :)

    Are you sure?
Check out tjis quote from the UK Border Agency's own website:

"Who has to take the test?
You should take the test if you are applying for naturalisation as a British citizen or indefinite leave to remain (settlement) and your level of English is ESOL Entry 3 or above"

According to this the test is only required for naturalisation or for indefinite leave. I am assuming he has both so I think you can get him to apply without taking the test. If British citizens had to take the test to obtain a passport then everyone would have to whether they were born in the UK or not.

Sorry about replying to an old thread, I too need to get through this test, can anyone please recommend any free resources other than http://lifeuk.info/blog/ which seems to be the flavor of the month. I don't mind paying for test material but would prefer not to.
Would the above be enough on it's own to pass ? I would not like to have to do the exam again :)
    Thanks for any advice.

I'm off to sit it now, wonder how I'll do...

    edit: scratch that, it's nonsense.

It is illegal to drive a vehicle while using a mobile phone

According to the test it is, so the test is wrong on at least one question.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
