    sorry ot sound dumb
we moved out 4 months ago and have 2 months left on the exemption
I will be BR on Tuesday but the bank won't repo my house they keep saying no
does this mean in January I am then going to be liable for the council tax for a house I don't live in and that the bank won't repo?

Yep! I am afraid so. Usually at 50% of normal rate.

Do a voluntary repossession curly, then they can't say no!

Yes they can if you don't sign the paperwork. They can muck around and then take it to court.

I think they can say no to a vol repo, NR did to us its a complete surpisre to me that they have done it.
I'm sure i've read others that wouldn't have it accepted either
  • Hi curly,
Have you sent the keys back to them? thats what we did with NR.

  • No he won't. But the Abbey still doesn't have to repo even if you give them the keys, though hopefully it will spaeed them up a bit.

  • Heard of them, but don't now if they will be any quicker. Presume they have a secured loan on your property

Hopefully someone will have had dealings with them.
