Has my house been repo'd?

Hi all,
I'm a bit confused.....
We sent back our keys to Northern Rock a few weeks ago (last mortgage payment was in May) with a letter saying we wanted voluntary repo.
Lots of letters later NR were saying they wouldn't unless we signed papers to say so, last week got a letter saying that we could still come to an arrangement.
Now today, my Aunt happend to drive past the house and it has a for sale sign on it, I looked on rightmove and there it is...
Does that mean its been repo'd we have had no paperwork or court stuff.
We didn't want it back anyway as could not afford the payments, but do I need to do anything about it or just wait to hear from NR??
Many thanks

That sounds totally like NR. If you don't want to ring NR it might be worth making some enquiries at the estate agents but you need to know to see who is responsible for the council tax.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

thanks for that, we were given 6 months off the council tax from sept so aren't due to pay until march, hope it has been repo'd one less thing to worry about. i'll maybe give the agents a call in the week and see what I can find out.
Or I suppose I could email the council tax people again
sorry waffeling now.
Thanks again

sorry to jump in if you are made BR but the banks drang there feet on the repo who is liable for the council tax incurred after the BR?Total Weight Loss - 28lb and countingAD 17/11/20100

If the house is repod then the mortgage company is liable I THINK-please wait for confirmation on this
If the house is vacant but in your possession you get a 6 month exemption from council tax.
If you are still there you are liable for this, and every other bill after the BR0 -
we are not BR yet, I was told by CCCS that once house was repo'd we were no longer liable for the CT. is this not true??0

I think that is right, I was hoping someone else would confirm...0

sorry ot sound dumb
we moved out 4 months ago and have 2 months left on the exemption
I will be BR on Tuesday but the bank won't repo my house they keep saying no
does this mean in January I am then going to be liable for the council tax for a house I don't live in and that the bank won't repo?Total Weight Loss - 28lb and countingAD 17/11/20100 -
OK if the house is repo'd you are no longer responsible for the CT.
If the house is NOT repo'd then you are. Usually you get 6 months free as the house is empty, if after this time it has not been repo'd you have to pay CT again, usually at 50%

I think so, but my council said that we would only need to pay 1/2 as it s an empty property.0
