    Depends on your rank too.

Usual route for junior rank would be Chief Clerk or submit a Preferential Treatment case (forms on work t'internet)

Go to your DO and they will sort it for you if they think its deserving enough.

I got a Compassionate posting years ago within 2 days of seeing my DO.

We have had problems with my health in the past (OH in RAF) and we have seen the Padre who has more influence than I could have ever thought possible. It may be a good idea to pay yours a visit as they do know the route that you need to take and they will also talk through any issues that you may have

Hope you get it sorted out soon

Personally I requested an OC's interview through my chain of command. If you have a genuine case then they have very little to get their back up about. Just make sure you have evidence and be prepared to back it up.

You could always ask for an attachment to your nearest TA, RAuxAF, RNVR unit or a cadet training team for 6 months.

I'm now 7 years into a years attachment, it just sort of worked out this way.
