Worcester Bosch 30cdi or Vaillant ecotec 831?

We're having our boiler replaced and I can't decide between these 2 boilers. Our plumber recommended the Vaillant, but comparing the two the WB has a higher heating output 24 versus 30 kW.
We have a larger 3.5 bed semi with 9 rads, and I'd like to run a shower from the combi too.
Also, are they quiet?
Thanks.

I like the vaillant. Good boilers and easys to work on when servicing.
Worcester are good boilers in the cdi range just don't touch the juniors.
I think that since glowworm bought out vaillant the customer service has gone down hill.
Never had that many problems with worcester customer service except once but thats another story.
My advise is get either boiler, they are both good boilers and not that loud when running.0 -
Do you presently have a combi?
How many bathroom outlets do you have?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

We don't have a combi at the moment - I know there is a risk of leaks when the system is put under pressure. We have one full bathroom, and one downstairs loo.0 -
hi there- we've just had installed a worcester bosch 24i junior in our 4 bed, 2 bath house. not as many controls as the 30cdi but certainly more than adequate for our needs...plenty of hot fast flowing water and lots of power to also reach a previously very cold front room. we paid around £1700 to have it installed. its very quiet aswell, and theres a 5yr guarrantee. definately recommend the WB:D0

As you only have one bathroom,a combi may suit. There is little to tell between the Worcester CDI and the ecotec though i might lean a little more toward the worcester. Have you had a good read of the worcester bosch website? do a google. It is most informative.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Nothing to choose between the 2, go with what the plumber recommends then he will be happy and when he comes to service it he will still be happy rather than cursing your choice for what ever reason.0

I had a vaillant ecotec 831 installed a couple of months ago....upgraded from my previous 15 year old vaillant combi
Now I am a bit of a Luddite ( and still have not recovered from throwing out a perfectly working boiler, not very MS ) but I miss my old boiler!
My house is open plan and the new boiler seems to click loudly on and off A LOT so I would not say it is that quiet. Plumber did not seem to think the noises were unusual but I am still very aware of it. Hmm0
