Next door neighbour is changing my sky channels from their house!!

help, I bought one of those tv transmitters for £30 from maplins, so I can watch sky tv on my television upstairs. I have set the sender and receiver boxes to channel 2, I was watching my tv and suddenly the channels were changing because there is a little inferred thing you stick to the sky box, so you can use your sky remote on the tv upstairs. How come my neighbour can change my channels, does it mean they have the same box? or should I just change the transmitter and receiver channel to 1, 3 or 4? Does this make sense at all?

Something could be interfering on that channel, so yes try a different one.
You could also play around with the position of the sender downstairs.0 -
Perhaps you should also find out if you are changing his Sky channels!
Best to come to some agreement about which (different) channel each of you is going to use, otherwise this could be a war of attrition... :mad:0 -
No it doesn't make sense...infra red cant do that and it uses the remore to change channels via the eye ..so it's not IR if it's doing that.

It's infra red from remote/device to transmitter/receiver, but I think the link between transmitter/receiver is RF, which could be prone to interference. No it doesn't make sense...infra red cant do that and it uses the remore to change channels via the eye ..so it's not IR if it's doing that.0 -
You think thats weird when I was a kid we had a radio that we could tune into next door, never worked out what was going on but we could hear word for word what was said, their arguments were brilliant.0
