    If you have a TomTom or other unit that receives updates make sure you plug it in to the PC as TomTom has quick fix software they update frequently to allow locking to satellites quickly.

    Thanks for all the replies-and not one- "why don't you use a map" reply!! Whew!!

    I do very rarely charge it,I just run it off the cigarette lighter most of the time,is this totally wrong (runs off to charge it now).

    I only use Tom Toms,I am not very techy,so maybe I need to get my son to plug it into the PC,do you need a different lead ,what is it called?

    For a TomTom, I think it's just a USB cable you need. Have a look in the box for any extra cables.
