I bought this today from b&q (not ebay, paid £42 after discount
)
It worked well today to drill into wood and put 65mm depth screws in (the impact drill-driver, not the plain drill driver, but used the non inpact settings for screwing
)
Am now confused as to whether it is a hammer drill or not? I have a very cheap, very rubbish b&q own brand corded hammer drill, should I keep it in conjunction with my 2 new snazzy ones
the new one feels much better and more powerful than my old one....
Can anyone explain the difference between impact and hammer?
(I have googled but just seem to get info on impact drivers, not impact drill-drivers)

There is no difference. It's just a normal combination drill with a smaller drill/driver.0

Thanks, its just that it says the bigger drill (of the pair) is an impact drill/driver, not a hammer drill/driver (which our cheap b&q own brand jobbie is) is there actually a difference between impact and hammer?0

It says on the ebay listing, percussion hammer action. It also calls it an impact drill. I think that we can assume that it is an impact/ percussion/ hammer drill. Pick which name you fancy. They all mean the same thing.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
As mentioned above, a hammer/percussion/impact DRILL are all the same.
An impact DRIVER is something very differant, but there's no need to confuse you with that!0 -
