Thank you everyone for the suggestions, unfortunately it seems like my budget for Christmas has just been slashed again with an unexpected bill so I will have to take a long look at what I can do. I really appreciate all the suggestions though, thanks.

As someone else said what about Pj's? Primark have some great Camoflage ones, i paid £4 for my son's pair this year. Little girls aged 4 all love anything pink and princess, what about some fairy wings and wand? you could get these in most £ shop's. Or even some colouring books/crayons/pencils. Or jigsaw puzzles. My 6 year old son is into Ben 10, Star Wars, Lego and football. My 4 year old neice loves Dora, Fifi, Peppa Pig, High School Musical, Dolls and Princess.

Amazon have great gifts for very little and you dont waste money on P&P. Also, ebay, kids dont know if things are second hand (although mum and dad might). Even with your further reduced budget try searching for age approriate toys in your local area, then you can collect for free and get a real baragin.
  • Hi

My son is 7 and daughter 3. Even with a slashed budget there are some really nice gifts out there. My daughter adores HSM and anything to do with dressing up or babies, Asda have lots of things in. For your nephew you could get a set of Beast Quest books, they are aimed at his age and cost £5 for a set of 3 in Asda, my son adores them. He can't read them himself yet but enjoys having them read to him. Children get so much stuff please don't beat yourself up if you can't afford much. If all you can afford is a selection pack they will be happy with that, somewhere has them on a really good deal at 3 for £6 and they are the £2.97 ones I'm sure. Hope this helps.

For the little girl? It's £2.79 and free delivery. Saw these in debenhams and it's a little pack of 6 books and 10 stickers. Once you've read the books, you can flip them over and make up the little puzzle.

I'm sorry, I'm terminally bad with boys pressies :o

Thanks for the continuing suggestions, they're great. I have a large Asda a couple of bus rides away, so will check that out next time I am close. I'm hoping to earn some extra money at work by doing a few extra bits and bobs, so fingers crossed that will help. I've also told the adults they will not be getting presents until January.

  • If the older one loves planes, why not treat him to a day out, at one of the airports, with lunch, and then give him a little model plane.

My eldest loved going to Gatwick to see the planes .., and one of the carparks at Heathrow gives a great view from the top level!
  • For your niece, how abou a personailsed book as she will be starting to recognise letters / read. My daughter has a beuty and the beast one with her as the main character, and her brothers too. It wasnt expensive, and is still treasured today. Try googling personalised books...
  • If you buy Lego go to Bricklink.com ,it is much cheaper than the larger toy sites, which sometimes double the price on Harry Potter Lego.

i have a little girl and dora, fifi, peppa pig are the programs of choice at the moment. She is also very into her drawing and colouring in. you can pick up PJ's plus a book and crayons for under a £5 if you shop around. Primark for PJ's and £ shop for the colouring book.
