    Thanks in which case you should be OK. You main difficulty will be exchanging the dual socket for a single. Prolly need you to change the back box to a single and live with a hole in the wall. But it will be covered up. Good practice would suggest, though, that on removing the dual back box that part which will not be occupied any more should be filled in.
