DVD Recorder

I'm looking at dumping my vcr and going over to a DVD Recorder. Can anyone out there please advise what features/format I should be looking for please? I don't need anything clever, just "point and shoot" (i.e. under a hundred quid). Thanks.

You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.

Spend slightly more and get a decent make - Tesco were selling Panasonics recently for £109. They use DVD RAM which has an excellent timeslip feature: record a programme and watch it while it's being recorded. Great for when you're not quite ready for a programme - just start the recording, then go away to make your cup of tea etc, then start watching from the beginning during the recording. It is so useful.

We have two Panasonic machines and a Targa HDD/DVD recorder all are excellent machines, Panasonic make great DVD recorders.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Must agree with the above posts. Panasonic machines appear to be very good. A quick internet search seems to suggest that philips machines can be problematic.
