dont have the advance payment to collect the car

my sister has a problem... she had the money saved up but a huge problem arrived and cutting a long story short... her car is ready to collect in a week and she dosnt have the advance payment and cant save it in time... what can she do and will she be in trouble

    I think she should contact Motability asap and see what they advise.

    The car dealer will probably not be too happy with having to wait to deliver the car (depending on how long it will take to get the money together). If it will take a long time, it may mean cancelling the order entirely and the dealer may try to seek costs (don't know how that would work though) hence speaking with Motability asap. I notice that some dealers are asking for the Advance Payment at the time of ordering, purely to prevent this situation arising, particularly with cars that have unusual optional extras specced or are not in a popular colour that can be sold easy.

    I have always paid the advance payment at the time of ordering the car, thought this was the norm
  • I believe motability have a scheme, like a charity arm, that helps people who cannot afford the deposit. They may help. I guess it may depend why she has no money now.
