Boiler problem

I have a BG engineer coming out to me tomorrow as part of my Homecare cover but I thought I'd try my luck here in case I stand a chance of getting some heating tonight and hot water in the morning!

Boiler is a Potterton Puma 80e. Mains light on the front is out. Checked fuse in supply to boiler, swapped it. Still nothing. No HW or CH, nothing.

Any ideas?

Check swapped fuse on something else. If fuse OK, timer etc may be broken. If fuse blown, you have an electrical fault

Thanks peeps. Turns out it was a loose connection on the PCB. Easy enough to rectify.

A friend who's disabled and cant get out the house to ask anyone is having trouble with the central heating, here goes

the boiler is a baxi and its five years old, the pilot light comes on and the boiler kicks up and the thermostat is on high, when the boiler comes on the radiators make a noise but they dont get hot but the water gets hot, he as been told it could be a valve and that there may be a switch on the valve which will be on automatic which he can switch to manual, can this be done(or is it just for emergency's) if so will this do it any harm

the boiler is just for the water and radiators, and the valves on the radiators are the old type, turn right/left to turn them off/on
