In simple terms none, you need to ring some brokers, A Plan Bletchley gave my wife 3 years when she got her own car after 10 years as a named driver with no accidents.

  • My wife was given a full 4 years NCB for 4 years as a named driver with Admiral. This was about 8 years ago tho' so not sure how relevant that will be now.
  • ok thank you for replying
  • opps forgot to ask do i have to call every brooker for a quote because the comparison sites are not showing discounts for a named driver

were trying to get cover for a fiesta lx 1299 value only £400 the cheapest quote we can get is £300.00 with sureterm
  • They will have no NCD when moving to another insurance company.

SOME insurance companies (I know Direct Line does) will give a named driver 5 (in your case) years' NCD on their own policy as long as they stay with Direct Line. If they were to leave Direct Line though, no NCD would be transferrable to a new insurer.

    Does that make sense?

    think so

if we take a policy out with them say tomorrow would they give 5 years ncd when we take the policy and how long do we have to stay with them?
