After numerous phonecalls, to explain that i have two children (instead of the 1 the TC people think), and to explain about my income dropping (now a student nurse). I have finally got my award notice. Instead of the minimum amount for the family element of child tax credit, I am now entitled to the family + child elements, which more than triples my award. Finally some good news.

How long did it take to sort out Leemina?
Our income is also about to drop dramatically and the TCs will make a big difference to us.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Took three weeks in all, and four phonecalls, so not long really. Good luck!0

Finally got mine sorted out, and some money should go in on Thursday.
They stopped the single parent claim as soon as my husband moved in, and it's taken ages to get the new couple claim sorted out. The delays due to too many people renewing awards, and me changing my name due to marriage which confused them!
Moral - If you are a single parent getting married or moving a partner in, then do it away from the tax credit renewal periodHere I go again on my own....0
