Uneven floor where concrete meets wood

Hi everyone,

We are fitting engineered wood flooring ontop of electric underfloor heating throughout our downstairs. Unfortunately the kitchen/diner has a concrete floor and the livingroom and hall a suspended wood floor. Where the two meet there is quite a difference in level and it isnt a uniform difference either!

Im thinking the best idea will be to screw down plyboard onto the floorboards to create a flat surface, is this the best option?

I also thought about using extra underlay but I guess this will flatten after time!

Any advice would be gladly received on the best way forward!
Lisa

Hi, I haven't measured it properly yet but when we laid a board down I could easily get my fingers underneath at one end! Trouble is at the other end there was hardy a gap at all! If we fix one side then we will cause a problem at the other!

    Very annoying!

you really need the floor to be fairly level across the whole area.
sometimes its better to forget a single level, and make a step. itll be easier to lay 2 seperate floors.
