Calling all citizens of the People's Republic of South Yorkshire

East Midlands Trains are running a sale to promote the extension of London/Derby trains to/from Sheffield. Advance fares now start at £5, and available for travel from mid-December to mid-February, excluding 22-28 December. Details below and here.

To celebrate the launch of our new extra services to/from Sheffield and London, we are offering thousands of Advance fares from just £5 each way. Use our new Best Fare Finder on the left to book your £5 tickets online. Valid for travel between 13 December 2009 and 14 February 2010, snap them up before they disappear. To avoid missing out, book now. Exclusion dates for travel are 22 to 28 December 2009.

The new services mean, we will be running double the number of trains and cheap seats per hour to the capital. This is thanks to a joint initiative with key stakeholders, Yorkshire Forward and Travel South Yorkshire which have provided funding.



Our fastest train per hour will speed you from Sheffield to London St Pancras International, in only 2 hours 7 minutes. The London route also links Sheffield to Chesterfield, Derby and Leicester, while regular services on the Liverpool to Norwich route provide access to Manchester and Nottingham.


Business travellers heading to London in the morning have a choice of three business trains: The Sheffield Continental at 0647, The Master Cutler at 0727 and The South Yorkshireman at 0741.
