Navman S100 problems, any suggestions?

I bought a factory re-pack S100T just under a month ago, direct from NavMan. Had one or two teething problems which I managed to work out, but there are two major problems I'm having with the unit, and with NavMan.
Firstly, the unit will randomly reset itself. I can be driving along quite the thing, and it will shut down and restart. This has happened a few times, regardless of if it is in idle, or has a route calculated. The unit isn't powering down as it would if the power was shut off, but is a hard reset.
Secondly, and more worryingly, I now can't get a GPS signal at all. It lost all reception on Tuesday morning, and hasn't picked up a signal since. I haven't moved the unit inside the car (it had been in that position for over a week with no problems) and even when I have sat the unit outside with a clear view of the sky, nothing. It's been sitting on my windowsill for nearly an hour, to no avail.
The biggest problem I have now is getting a response from NavMan. Using both their website support form, and the email address I had in the box, I've now sent them 3 emails regarding the problems I'm having, and so far, nothing, Not even an acknowledgement email that they know I have a problem. In all 3 emails I've explained that it is used in an emergency service vehicle, and that the problems are causing very real issues, but to no avail. This is completely separate from the fact that the map data for my area is (for some parts) between 5 and 20+ YEARS out of date, despite being marked as late 2008 maps.
So, in conclusion, has anyone had problems like these? Were there any workarounds or suggestions put forward? And does anyone have a number to phone the !!!!!!s direct, as this is really starting to annoy the hell out of me? My old satnav was a TomTom, and it was far better (more reliable, up to date maps were a download away, and traffic and camera updates worked a charm) although a bit more expensive, and so desirable that someone wrecked my door locks to get their hands on it. I thought I was picking a good one this time too, but it's rapidly proving to be a pig in a poke.

Who here advised a Navman and when was cheap good? Aren't they based in New Zealand...0

Thanks for the numbers Alan, will give them a try ASAP.
Total, I made the choice on my own after using one of their other models for a few months, and found it to be ok. I should also point out that it certainly wasn't cheap, just cheaper than the TomTom because it was a factory repack. If I'd wanted really cheap, I'd be asking about the Binatones from Argos

From what you wrote in your first post certainly sounds like it's faulty, If you'll be looking for a replacement the Navigo v1 or 2 are pretty good when running on tomtom or miomap and probably under £60,
Good luck with the numbers though. Alan.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0 -
When I was looking for a new satnav, I discounted Navman (who are now part of Mio) as they only provide updates for 2 years. TomTom only provide updates for 3 years, however, Garmin have no time limit for updates.
Your Navman sounds like it has a major fault, I would return it for a replacement if I were you.Never Knowingly Understood.

Using 01293566100 and using option 2 refers you to 08712770139 for tech. support. Starting to get a little annoyed now.
##Update##
They are sending out a new unit. While deleting all my personal data, it suddenly picked up a signal and found its location. Regardless, it's still going back. The random resets were more than just irritating, they were causing problems that made it unreliable. If this one doesn't work any better, I'll be asking for my money back.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

Thanks for the numbers guys, just called that 0871 number, got thru within 5 minutes and they arranged for me to send it back... I would argue for them to arrange a courier, but i cba. We'll see how it is when it comes back...0
