Best man and usher gifts - Wedding

Hi

I am getting married in September and am stuck what to get my best man and usher as a gift.

To set the scene, last year i was best man for my brothers wedding (he's my best man) and he got me an engraved tankard -

i cant really return the gesture - so I'm a bit stuck what i can get - something silver and engraved seems common, but

a) he doesnt wear a suit so doesnt need a pen/tie pin/cufflinks etc.
b) doesnt smoke
c) doesnt need a hip flask thing!

any thoughts!????

help - i'm soon gonna have a nagging bride on my case ;-)

my OH is considering two whisky glasses in a presentation box for his best man, on the understanding that whenever he visits him, they get to have a little toast to themselves as married men!

How about a ticket for some type of sport or group that he likes? Not the usual commemorative gift, but if none of those are appropriate, it may be nice to get him something different.

yeah thats the problem, the gift is usually a "keep-sake" - engraved or something - but none of the usual options fit

my fiancee suggested a snooker cue case (he likes playing that) but i dont think he'd like the idea of a best man/thank you message emblazened on the front of it!!!

i think i need to go away from the traditional - ooooooooo its sooo hard!!!

How about a day out for you, usher and best man doing something you enjoy together. You could always take a photo of whatever it is you do (within reason!) and frame it for them as a keepsake!

Have organised zorbing for a few friends who are difficult to buy presents for in the past, basically rolling down a hill inside a plastic bubble - great fun and definitely different! lastminute.com do it, but I think it's usually cheaper if you google the co and organise it yourself.

    Something away from traditional?
If you don't mind about not handing over a physical gift, how about dedicating a tree? Check out The Woodland Trust (https://www.woodland-trust.org.uk) for details. You do a get a certificate with the details of the location and message on.
Or how about something from Oxfam unwrapped: https://www.oxfamunwrapped.com
Or a day out as suggested previously.
At least it means that your best man/usher won't have a gift they feel obliged to have on display/use, as is so often the case with traditional gifts!
  • We gave the men nice cufflinks (the type they could wear again) to wear on the day, and the girls necklaces, again to wear on the day, but to be able to be worn again in the future.

That way they looked great on the day, and we got the presents out of the way at the same time.

We have got our best man a nice pen set - he does have to sign a lot of documents in his job, so we know it will be used.
