Tell your solicitor you've paid it (produce a mini statement if you can) and they will knock it off the settlement figure. This often happens.

When I sold my house, my solicitor contacted my mortgage lender, and qualified the completion date with them, which they then took into account when issuing the final statement. I actually paid my mortgage shortly before completion too, but as my solicitor/mortgage lender had planned ahead, this was taken into account on the final statement given by my mortgage lender. I'd double check with your solicitor and ask if this was the same for you.

some solicitors will request a new redemption statement- although in other cases you might have to wait for it to be returned - and sometimes its via the solicitor!!
