Anyone have any recommendations for Double Glazing firms in South London area (Tooting) ? Any to stay away from ?

As a general rule I stay away from any that offer the following 'discounts' as it's pretty much a con to get your money:
Discount if you sign now
Free xxx if you sign now
Quote only valid for today
Buy front and get the back free
Big discount if we can use your house as a 'show house' for the area and put up a sign or put a picture in a brochure
Insists on yourself and partner being there for the quotation

For these reasons and others I'd avoid BAC - worst high pressure salesman ever (but watching him try to maintain his composure and complete a sale while my !!!!! humped his leg was hysterical)

Merton Windows did do me a very nice quote and no pressure visit. I would have gone with them but the windows have been put on teh back-burner for now

Thanks very much for the reply, after reviewing some previous posts I was coming to the same conclusion about the bigger companies who offer discounts. We have a period property so I have a feeling that any quote is going to be on the high side. I will give Merton windows a call and see what they come back with
