Weekend 14th/15th Nov - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Hooray for the weekend at last:T:T:T
It's been so quiet on here lately, where is everyone? Come on people, come and post with us.....;)
I'm in bed right now - not getting up properly til 9....it's the law on Saturday:rotfl: Got a cuppa and laptop - what more could I want??
Nothing much on today, going to take girls to gym club in a while, then go and swap the rug I bought for their room and buy petrol. Plan to stay home for the afternoon and evening....a nice quiet day.
So here's my list:

Hi everyone - it is literally blowing a gale today, so it may not be safe to leave the house! If it is, these are my plans for the day.
1) NSD
2) Check banking, quidco etc
3) SCs
4) Go to a 1st birthday party. _party_Looking forward to catching up with lots of people there. Lovely present wrapped with paper from stash and card from stash.
5)Iron T's old clothes as I have a potential buyer coming to look at them.
6) All meals from stores.
7) Indoor hokey cokey.
Right, off now to try and rouse Sleeping Beauty B! According to today's paper, teenagers need to sleep in at the weekend for their metabolism or they can become obese. I think this is late enough though!
Have a fab weekend,
L x0 -
Hi All!!! Sorry I have not been on all week, I have been away with work (all good though, beautiful hotel, free food and drink, all paid for by work) Only downsides were no internet and phone access and now I've got loads of work to catch up on and really busy week ahead. May have to do some tomorrow:eek:
Anyway on a DFW note I have done the following:
Paid of 1st CC:j:j
Monthly payment to other 2 cards paid, now looking for new 0% deal for 2 cards but balance now small enough to move to just one card!!!!!!
Only 3 month payments left on loan- will review in a couple of weeks and may pay off before next payday!!!
Updated spreadsheet which shows we have now paid 60% of our total (non mortgage) debt since Jan 2009.
Only 1 Christmas present left to buy
This weekend I will/have:
Look for 0% deal on CC
Re-write freezer list and meal plan for week from that
update baby/ household stores list as I might be complete now for all my bits required for MAT leave - which is good news as I still have 4 weeks before my MAT leave starts
Make Christmas cards
Possibly wrap Christmas presents and write cards
Hope you are all having a great weekend0 -
Morning everyone,
Lurleene - do you think that sleeping teenagers thing applies to 29 year olds as well? My OH is still fast asleep upstairs! :rotfl:
Jonno - well done on paying off the cc!
I'm going to have quite a quiet day today, am dog sitting for my parents tonights so I've got a few things want to do before then. The weather is a bit grim here at the moment - wet and windy. Not as bad as elsewhere though, parents have gone to Devon for the weekend, poor things!

- Dinner from parents' freezer
- Walk dog for free exercise

Sounds like you guys are having some of our normal winter weather - hugs! Keep safe if its too horrid stay indoors...xx
Made big batch of scottish pancakes (I think they are called 'drop scones' in Englandshire) - so half are scoffed and half are on a plate on the table - not for long I suppose!!
CHicken stock and noodles in the slow cooker still experimenting
Its so gorgegous here (windy) but not too bad, so must take doggie out on beach with kids in a bit - DS a bit better (last night his temp peaked at 101oF)
Just got a text telling me that there's a bag of kindling at the front door!
Must must must meal plan for this week - enough bread, milk and fruit/veg in - we don;t need any food so I hopign we can have a few NSD's (which I am rubbish at!)
Tomorrow my OD is fully paid off on one account which feels a bit wierd - I love PAD's
Must replenish the bird table cos they have scoffed the lots!
Hope none of you blow away!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
