I am looking at the Acer One D150 for my daughter for Xmas. She only needs it to go on facebook, I player & I tunes as well as general surfing the net.
Is this a good buy in the sub £200?
Thanks

We have had a rethink & are looking to up the budget to around £250.
Have looked at the Dell Mini 10v with 1gb ram, 160gb hd & windows xp or windows 7 for £20 extra.
Anyone have any thoughts on these?0 -
I have one (D150 that is), just under £200 from Ebuyer. It's been fine so far so would recommend. I only use it for basic tasks, internet etc. and it's more than suitable for those.
The RAM is very easy to upgrade to 2GB (max), 1 small screw and cover for access, which I've done. However that puts the total to over £200. It did work well with the 1GB though. If XP doesn't bother you, it doesn't me, then yes, go ahead. The XP versions might come down a bit more though to dispose of this "ancient" OS models!
Can't comment on Dell, never owned one, they do receive favourable comments on MSE. Some not so favourable too as does Acer.0 -

That is because prices change.
Now £260 via PcWorld. £8.40 back via Quidco. Plus another £20 cashback. So possibly £231.60.
The N140, not the N130, is it's replacement.
Alternatively, there is the Asus EEE PC 1005HA.0 -
Donnie, I know prices change and I wasn't trying to sound funny - I just wondered as it had only been pasted 2 days prior if any discount codes had been used in order to get it for that price.
I was going to get the acer one but have been swayed towards the NC10 now so am looking for the best price out there hence q'ing the price.0 -
Don't worry, I didn't think that you were "being funny". The price had simply changed in that timeframe. It was originally £238.76 before cashbacks were applied.0

I would make sure it has a 6 cell battery whatever you decide to get, the 3 sell ones are rubbish only last around 2 hours, a 6 cell will last around 60
