    Any more news anyone?
Apparently they got a fourth place at Cheltenham. Not bad going and surprised a few. "I could have got third", said Judith Wilson, "but Fergus has put on a few pounds and I was getting tired in the final furlong."

I've just read on the House Buying/Renting/Selling forum that Google Streetview have released more areas to view. They've finally got my own street on streetview.

I'm still not claiming 100% that it's the house in Carolt's Guardian article, but just showing how the brickwork and even roof might come across differently under different cameras and other conditions such as weather.

The bricks on the streetview camera shots are more like the article photo than the letting agency's photo, and roof colour is much darker than letting agency's photo as well.

(Give it a moment to acquire streetview position)

Yoo-hoo. This wider streetview release should help a lot in getting data together with investigations or research on a possible home to buy.

Very similar but the alarm bellboxes are different one is at 90 degrees to the other and higher and the downspout over the porch is the opposite hand.

So that scout hut (which had one detached bungalow planning applications refused on 10-Dec-2009) goes into this auction on 22/02/2010.

    Auction lot number 17.

A scout hut/plot which doesn't look likely to easily pass for change to residential use*, at an auction guide price of £50,000-£60,000.

Posting this so I can easily refer back to Auction Results on Clive Emson Auction website, some time after the auction, to see if they got a buyer and the result.

It didn't sell last time. It's going into an upcoming auction. I've got my own thoughts about what it's worth - not very much - but other people might be able to see more profitable use for the site/land than I can.

    Auction Date
    14/04/2010 - 11:00
The Ramada Hotel & Resort, Maidstone

#64. Maidstone Area. FORMER SCOUT BUILDING WITH POTENTIAL

    Guide: £35,000 - £45,000

The Wilsons hit the jackpot on the scout hut.

There must have been some real suckers bidding. I've just checked back for info on the auctioneer's website and it reports it sold for £70,000. One down, hundreds more properties to go.

It seems to me that if they're continuing to own/race horses and are selling off bits of land for double the list price, then this pair are going to be OK.

Another sign that the housing crash is over if people are bidding so much for a scout hut.

Were these two people able to remain in the listings for the Rich List 2010?

    rich_list.jpg

Or did they crash out of the ranks and don't get a mention?

£195 for that book. Where's the delicious capital gaining HPI gone, Judith? Someone on the forums has today been sounding very much like Judith.
Judith believes that because there are not enough properties in the UK to meet housing demand, that there is never a wrong time to buy property.

I hate the Sunday Times Rich List. Utterly pointless.

There has been a story about them in The Downs Mail which is a small free newspaper in Kent, unfortunately it can't be read on line.

The story is about them buying a shop in Boughton Monchelsea and trying to convert it to flats without gaining planning permission.

If I can get a copy I'll tell more.

Maybe a wealthy, generous type bought it to give back to the scouts? Would be nice if that is the case as I can't see what else anyone could do with it.
