Patio doors - this sound OK?

Morning all,I've had a quote for the installation of some patio doors (to replace a window - so includes removal of the wall below) and wanted to just check that it sounded right...The quote was from a firm recommended by a fellow forumista, and everything else certainly seems very good - and a world away from my double glazing salesmen fears. The doors to be installed are 2150 wide by 2490 high (this is high - about as high as you can go apparently) and the quote was for approx. £1580 for uPVC or £1710 for aluminium - including supply, fitting, VAT etc.Does this sound about right, or do I need to be getting another quote?

We were quoted up to three grand to have french doors put in so I would say you've been given a good price.0

Jockett and Nelly are your quotes for french doors or for sliding patio doors? I want to replace the manky old aluminium sliding doors for french doors when we get into our new house, but am wondering if it's going to cost a fortune. Will get some quotes when we move in but was just wondering what a rough estimate might be.0

I have had this exact thing done last week. Moved into our new house 8 weeks ago and replaced large sliding allunimium doors with PVC French doors and small windows either side. £1050 for the doors/windows and £300 for the building work including lintel. Another £70 for the council!

There seems to be quite a lot of us money savers from N.E Lincs, we're very thrifty people
You wouldn't believe how much they charge for fish and chips in Coventry and how awful they are, it breaks my heart

We had our wall knocked out to make way for French Doors with two windows either side. Total cost £1256 that included everything VAT etc.
PVC white french doors with 12 individual small panes of glass in each door. We got them from £1900 down to £1250 by saying we got a few more quotes from their competitors and they lowered the price without even checking the Companies first. So not bad...Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0
