Amazon - praise as usual!

Options
Well, I've been an Amazon fan for years, as their customer service is amazing, but was impressed by their speed tonight..

I bought some Timberland shoes around this time last year for £70, and for the last few weeks when I've worn them the right one has leaked a bit. The rain tonight was terrible and when I got in my right foot was soaked, but the left one was bone dry so I thought enough is enough..

I emailed Amazon. Literally within 10 mins I got a standard reply offering a full refund, and included a couple of printouts for the return slip and the courier postage. So I'll clean them up tomorrow and post them off. Of course, I have no box or receipt or anything but I am so impressed.

Assuming it goes smoothly Amazon have cemented me as a customer for life (I've had good service in the past)

  • Wow that really is good, because I certainly wouldn't give anybody a refund for a pair of shoes after one year.

    Wow.

I think Amazon are great. To think they just started off selling books, whereas now you can buy almost anything from them - not to mention all the other private sellers they host too.

One thing I've noticed though is that their super saver delivery always comes the next day so you needn't pay for delivery. I ordered something on Tuesday morning last week, selected free delivery, and it arrived Wednesday lunctime.

I love Amazon and have used them for years, this week I ordered a new camera, cost around £125 (other sites sold for £140-£199) it was delivered very quickly but I must admit that I was very suprised that it was delievered by normal post- no tracking, not signed for. Now I am very honest but it would be so easy to say that it hadnt arrived...I would have thought that they would at least send it signed for (only 70p or so more).

I use Amazon a fair bit. I have had three problems over the years.

They immediately replaced a DVD recorder - "you can use the packing from the new one to return the other".
They replaced - then refunded me for some software that refused to work (not helped by the non-existent "support" from the software company).

THEN - I had a problem with a 3 month old Canon printer - they told me to get in touch with Canon - cheeky b*****s !!, when I pointed out the error of their ways, they supplied a new one.

Generally, I find them very good.

I know. I've only worn them 50 times or so but I bought them specifically to be my waterproof pair, and only use them when the weather's bad. Obviously defective as it's only one shoe that leaks but still, I know, they're shoes and you don't expect a refund for shoes! (Amazon said they would have replaced them but they're not made anymore).
  • Just a quick note to say they've processed my return and issued a full refund. Brilliant. Now to choose another pair!
  • I love amazon. I bought a book (at work, I used to work in supplies) and the person who ordered it didn't need it anymore. It was over the 30 days, but not by too much. I called and explained the situation and they happily took it back, and sent me the bits to print so I wouldn't have to pay. :) I was very pleased.
