I sent in coupon from Eve mag, thought they'd forgotten me till I got a phone call last Thurs. Had a wash, cut and blowdry for free the next day and then yesterday got an offer from them of £10 voucher if I filled in a questionaire about the service I got.
Good salon, good cut, nice people and good service so I will definitely be taking them up on this offer.

I've put GH on my shopping list too.  Can't have too much of a good thing when it's for free, can you? ;)

  • I'm afraid I'm in the same situation...applied for the MORE magazine promotion and still nothing...Rang them and after SIX phone calls to different departments, was given the personal number of the guy in charge. He told me that the reason I hadn't called was because my postcode didn't have a suitable salon. When I said his website said it did, he got quite shirty and said that if he didn't get teh hits, he didn't get the money. To cut a long story short he said "as a favour" he'd get in touch with the salon and "get me in". I still haven't heard from anyone. He quoted terms and conditions which said that if there was no local salon, the hair group reserved the right to keepyour detailson file for 12 months. It's all very dodgy and has left me feeling that I want to complain to someone - surely this is a case for advertising or trading standards?! After all I only bought the magazine for the free haircut!! >:(

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.
  • i brought the magazine but where in it is the voucher for david wilson homes? :-/
In the February edition (on sale now) there is a voucher for a free cut and finish up to £40 at top hairdressers nationwide, and if you have a colour at the same time you get 25% off.

Official insert: participating hairdressers can be found at http://www.hairgroup.co.uk

There is also a book of vouchers which includes £5 of certain grocery products, £5 off a £20 shop at Tchibo, free jewellery inspection and cleaning at Goldsmiths, some travel offers, and, for anysone thinking about buying a new home , there's £1000 off a David Wilson home.
All this for the £2.90 cost of the magazine! :D

There was a separate book of vouchers with my GH magazine (which I get on subscription) with lots of useful vouchers in it including the David Wilson Homes.
I've just looked at it and it says for subscribers only.
    Born to shop;)

  • I also had a very poor experience with the Hair Group. I and my mother both applied for the free haircut through New Woman magazine last summer and did not hear anything from them. They were difficult to contact as the quoted phone number was an automated service, however I found an email address on their website and contacted them that way. I was told there was not a salon close enough to me, and my mother was told she had been allocated to a salon in Leeds and should ring them direct. My mother rang them to be told they no longer offered the scheme, it was too much hassle, and the Hair Group should not continue to give out their number. I emailed the Hair Group again asking for compensation as they could not provide either of us with a 'Free Haircut' as they claimed, however we did not receive a reply.
After reading this most recent thread, I complained direct to the magazine. Their response was great, I emailed on Saturday and had a reply Monday morning, and a telephone call from the Hair Group on Monday morning also, allocating us to salons. We have yet to hear from the salon, however we seem to be progressing. For those of you who have not heard from the Hair Group, try telephoning them on 0870 7942077, the lady I spoke to was Ruth on Ext 205.
Otherwise, a complaint to the magazine should do the trick.
  • You shouldn't have to wait too long to hear from the - my girlfriend sent off the voucher for Good Housekeeping around 2 weeks ago and then received a letter from a local Hairdressers last week inviting her to ring to arrange an appointment. She did so and is booked in for a cut tomorrow afternoon.
