Problem with Vaxhall Vectra Headlight beam

Hello, I have a problem with my headlight full beam. when i use the full beam and then put it on dip. The full beam comes on again. I have to pull the lever/indicater towards me, so that the beam does not come on randomly, if you understand what i mean. Also when i indicate the full beam comes on briefly and some tiimes for quite a while. This is a bit dodgy as i don't want to dazzle anyone. Has anyone got any idea whats wrong? Please any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Sounds like a dicky stalk.0

Hi, yes my daughters fiance, suggested that and fitted another one, which he got from a scrap dealer, but it does exactly the same as before. He has mentioned the relay switch could possibly be the problem, but not sure. could that be a possibility? Thanks20p savers club

This is a common Vauxhall fault and for a new switch from ebay (about a tenner new) and ten minutes of your life, problem fixed.0

The fact the main beam comes on when it's not intended (i.e. when you indicate), suggests it's not a relay issue. I agree with others that its probably a dodgy stalk switch.
The fact you fitted a used part means that could have been dodgy too, as suggested. Best off fitting a new one."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Hello All,
I just wanted to say thank you all for your help. It was indeed the Stalk. The one that my daughters fiancee got from a scrap dealer and then fitted it for me was a duff one. i got another one from an on line scrap dealer for £10.00 and they sent it to me nextday delivery, so the total price was £19.89. Daughters fiancee fitted that stalk for me in 10 mins, and it works just fine. I am so pleased that i can drive at night, without the worry of the main beam coming on at random. Thank you all very much for your help.
Just a PS. The site i used on line was www.247spares.co.uk I had used them ages ago, but completely forgot about them. Vaxhall parts quoted £80.00 for the same part but new of course. Anyway thanks once again.20p savers club
