Hi
I am on the look out for a middle of the road ie good value but reliable package that covers all landline calls and is not too expensive for mobile that includes rental. I see some very cheap options but not with good customer experience so want to avoid these.
What would people recommend ?
Thanks

Such a package is not available. No provider would be stupid enough to allow all landline calls within a calls package. The best you're likely to get is inclusive UK 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 calls but, even then, time (per call or total) restrictions are likely to also be specified.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Hi
I am no expert here but can you clarify - if someone offers what you suggest (ie UK01, 02...) what does it tend not to cover from a "typical" user ? Are there other common number groups typically excluded ? Or are the restrictions around the usage as you indicate ?
Thanks0 -
The example I gave is what BT now offers (calls of up to 60 minutes each to those number groups 'in plan').
That means all calls to mobiles (075, 077, 078 and 079), other NGNs (0843, 0844, 0871, 0872, 0873), international destinations (00) and, obviously, Premium Rate (09 and 070) are excluded.
However, some providers (e.g. Sky) allow calls of up to 60 minutes each to some international destinations.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
