does anyone know if you are entitled to any compensation if you have constant power cuts?? In our street we have had 10 power cuts in three weeks, the longest for 8 hours, i'm not kidding!!! It is unbelievable how much you depend on power, no cooking, no lights, couldnt use shower, hell!!! We have logged a complaint with scottish power and it is due to an under ground cable fault, which took them 3 wks to fix!!!

most providers offer compensation for power failures, these vary between providers. Check you providers website, you should find the details there, or post your providers details and I'll find out for you

I don't think power companies are obliged to pay compensation unless you have been off supply for longer than 12 hours but seeing as you had so many powercuts they may give you a goodwill payment. I wouldn't expect a great deal though, in my experience goodwill payments tend to be around the £20 mark but you never know they might be feeling generous and offer more. Good luck. :D
