    Chinese party finger food ideas

    Sping rolls
    Prawn toasts
    Wantons
Chicken nuggets dipped & sweet & sour dipping sauce
Cucumber & carrot sticks (Trust me, I've been to China & these are very popular!)
    Fortune Cookies

Also, it isn't just red envellopes which are lucky but anything coloured red. Most girls wear red ribbons in their hair & lots of houses have red ribbon adornments on their doors, tying back curtains, on plant pots etc. Just get a big cheap roll of red ribbon & go nuts with it!

Rice eating competition : who can eat the most one grain at a time using chopsticks or who can eat a set number of grains the quickest? I'd do this before serving food to help fill them up a bit!

    Hi

You could draw a little panda- photocopy it loads and hide them all over the house and garden and let the little ones hunt for them. First one to find five gets a sweet or something!

If you had any rooms you didn't want them to go in, just put a big picture of a panda on the door with a keep out sign under it. I would just limit this to the garden, but it would depend on how big your's is!!

A panda shaped cake would be dead easy to make - make a rectangle sponge cake, find a simple panda pic online and print it out the same size as your cake, and cut it out.
Use it as a template to cut the shape of the cake, cover cake in white ready roll icing, cut out black bits of ready roll icing for ears, eyes etc.

Thank you all so much for all these brilliant ideas!

I love the idea of just changing ordinary games into panda themed ones, chopsticks seem to be a definite (will have to find a cheap supplier any ideas??). Fans and ping pong balls and panda paramedics are really fun! Red ribbon is a new idea and would be easy to do, as hopefully so will the money bag/envelope idea. Hunt the panda will also be easy, so I can see some plans coming together!

Thought I might do 'guess the weight of the panda' (my daughter has loads of cuddlies!), pass the panda (instead of p the parcel) with forfeits inside to do with pandas or true/false questions!

    Any more ideas out there??

    Thank you all so much!

Do you have an Asian supermarket near you (how posh a bit of Surrey are you in?!)? They always have chopsticks cheaply. Perhaps your local takeaway could point you in the right direction? I got mine for Rainbows at a local party shop which does supplies for various "holiday themes" - one of which was Chinese New Year - and they were only about £1 for a dozen pairs.

Its far too early for teen dd to be up, but I am sure she will come up with loads of ideas. I will ask her her later. My dd shares the same love of pandas. At the last count we had over 500 panda relted things around the house! Woolworths had panda balloons in stock a year ago. I don't know if they still do.
  • if you can get some white balloons and some black felt tips they could draw a panda on a flat balloon then blow it up. its quite funny how they go a bit distorted, sone that many times with kids over the years.

for some panda food type things, they sell a few of these in my local health shop, my dd esp loves licorice ones.

    Hi

Just wanted to say we had the chinese/panda party yesterday and it went really well.

We played many of the games suggested on here and a couple of others, so thank you all for the suggestions.

the games were such a success that the 20 kids all wanted to stay longer so I sent all the parents away so it lasted about 3 hours instead of only 2!

Just proved to me that with lots of organisation and planning you don't have to spend lots of money!

    Thanx again everyone!
