Could someone please recommend a mascara?

Sorry Lobell, I didn't make myself clear. It was because of your recommendation that I looked into it. It looks great and I was wondering if others agree too.
Thanks again for pointing me in the direction of it!

Oops...sorry
Hopefully someone else who has tried it will come along but Singulierwas only launched at the end of September so maybe not many people have had the opportunity to try it yet.0 -
Mine is Sexy Curves from Rimmel London. Gives me bootiful lashes and if I use eyelash curlers and sep mascara wand they almost look as good as fakes day use lashes.0

My friend bought me the Chanel one, defo one of the best I have ever used, but when I wanted a new one someone recommended the Max
Factor on about eleven quid, its absolutley brill as good as the Chanel

I really do rate the Magnascopic one - it's lovely and gives the lashes a nice natural look without being too heavy. It really depends what kind of look your friend is going for, and whether they're looking for party lashes or all-day lashes
Hope that helps,

L'Oreal beauty tubes for me. It doesn't smudge, flake or run down my face in the rain. Also doesn't slide off my (41 year old ) greasy skin. Comes off easily,too.0

I didn't like the benefit bad girl one either, the Lancome one is in Boots at the moment in a gift set £20 for the mascara, eyeliner and eyemake up remover, I paid £19.50 for the mascara on its own!£100 - £10,0000

No - it makes women look horrible.
You just haven't found the right one yet!
I have tried many mascaras. Too many actually- it has been a bit of an obsession and one of my NY resolutions was to not buy any more mascaras after I counted no less then 12 in my makeup box. (Actually they have their own separate make up box...) I now have 15...
I like different ones for different reasons- they all have subtle differences but its the finishing touch that can make all the difference. A few of my favourites have been (copied from another website I posted on)
DiorShow: Great for a heavy smoky look as this mascara really shouts loudly and coats every lash very well. Its madness to try to remove though- you will need time to get this off! But it does look good!
Maybelline Colossal mascara: great easy look- though easy to get an uneven look at the ends or end up poking your eye as the brush is curved. But still a great look, nice coating and doesn't clump your lashes into a mono lash. Doesn't last very long- about a month or so, before the mixture becomes sort of clumpy itself which can make it a hassle to apply. The reason for this is because its a quick drying formula (like most cheaper mascaras) and this is just the result.
Lancome Oscillating mascara- now I don't own this, but I have tried it in stores- its a nice mascara to apply and makes an even look very easily achievable. Looks great, its not just a gimmick! Not tried the Maybelline version (its half the price) but I tend to think that cheaper mascaras are just as good, but just don't last as long before the mixture becomes clumpy.
Cinique High Definition mascara- it has a wand which is split in two length ways, one side is a brush, the other a comb- it has many different looks, but if your used to twirling your mascara as you apply, try starting off in the comb side to separate lashes, and then end on the brush side to plump up lashes, voilà! Fantastic look! Even the brown colour gives instant oomph, and not many brown mascaras can actually do that!
Chanel Inimitable is good- its formula really does something to lengthen my lashes, not quite sure how, or if its simply that the formula is so fine that it can get right to the tips of my lashes (which are thin as they are at the ends) and stay put- most mascaras only cover about 3/4 or flake off my lashes after so long. This doesn't. They also have one called Exceptionnel which is also good, they were giving out samples of it earlier this year. Its a brush and comb combined, but I prefer the Inimitable one.
Mascaras I did not get on with have been:
Boots No.7, any of them actually! But the new square one is just terrible! After I had nearly poked myself blind with the brush, I found I had about 3 lashes- the brush had clumped all my lashes together! SO not a good look!
Max Factor False lashes mascara. Just didn't do anything by colour half the length of my lashes black. No lengthening, no adding, little separation, not buying that again!
Rimmel curves mascara. This actually hurt to apply! I think getting to the root of my lashes with a hard plastic brush is not something that will ever be painless for anyone- applying makeup should never be painful!
Benefit Bad Gal mascara. Just can't seem to find this worth the cash. Its around £15? and doesn't do anything a mascara 1/5 of its price can do. No volume, no intense lash boost, did separate, but not much else.
Bonjours eyeliner mascara. What eyeliner, where? point made.
Maybelline -"the pink one". Can't see how this is a justifiable mascara, sorry, useless!0 -
What a great thread, excellent suggestions, but I need a water proof mascara - I rub my eyes and also cry a lot (depression ). An ideas ?

Have the same problem- added to that I go to the gym alot and sweat...gross!! My eyes HAVE to have water proof mascara!
I really rate the ones by Clinique, they really seem water proof. DiorShow do a waterproof version which I have heard works really well- not tried it myself as was worried it would be even harder to get off then the normal version!
I would have thought the Maybelline Colossal waterproof mascara would be good as I have tried their X7volumising mascara in a waterproof version
which was waterproof for swimming!
But do think rubbing your eyes may make a difference- I don't rub my eyes, so smudging doesn't happen- if a mascara is not waterproof I get it streaming on my face or it goes all flakey. I have had it ground into me that pulling on the skin around your eyes will add to any wrinkles over time and add years on you.
Try instead of rubbing, to get a tissue and mop/dab rather then rub. Go for the insides of your eyes- where the tear ducts are rahter then the outter edges or tops of your cheeks. At worst, dragging a damp tissue under your eye to remove any smudges from make up.0 -

Whats the website Jennie?
What do they rate as the ultimate waterproof, because I'm still looking for totally unsmudgeable.
Those tube coating mascaras are totally unsmudgable but I don't like those, I like "normal" mascara.0
