this really isnt fair atall
bit of a story so ill make it short, bought a laptop from currys, 6 months later it broke, sent off to tech guys, received back repaied had new motherboard fitted, then again right near the end of warrentee 5 months later and 2 days left on warrentee infact it broke again, sent off received back 30 days later repaired had another motherboard, then a month later that it broke again !!!! sent off received back a week later it had another motherboard fitted and a screen, a week after that it broke again, sent it off, received it back yesterday after repair they had again replaced motherboard and screen
its broken again !!! one day it lasted this time
totally redicuous and i will be calling them in the morning, but no way do i want this laptop back its jynxed, its had 4 motherboards fitted and to lcd's
heres my problem, now the 12 months warentee expired, but i am safe in the fact its ont he 90 days repair guarantee, if i ring them up saying its broken again they wil just do what they have done before collect it and repair it and no doubt it will break shortly after that again
to me this is really really bad surely its not fair
ont he last time i said to him sale of goods act must come into this he immediatly ended the convo and told me to ring currys customer services who just fobbed me off and basicly said to me do i want my laptop repaird or not !!!! so i said fine and they arranged the repair.
one sodding day it lasted this time i feel like screaming a the top of my lungs i really do.
now do i draught some kind of letter to currys or what do i do? or do i just swallow it agin bend over and let them attempt another useless reply
so to summerise
bought laptop
broke 6 months later they repaired motherboard
broke 5 months later they repaired motherboard
broke a month later they repaired motherboard and screen
broke a week lafter that and the repaired motherboard and screen
broke 1 day after again ( present day)
WHAT CAN I DO?

tell them you want a new one as its obviously not fit for purpose and tell them to include a spell checker.one of the famous 50

i know my spelling is terrible sorry
i said that before but there two different people completely, the tech guys just repair, i would need to deal with currys who are useless to say the least, passed around from pillar to post got no were then a rude lady said as i put above.... look..... do i want it repaired or not !0 -
Hi i sympathise greatly as have an ongoing battle with them over our fridge freezer..im sitting here quite upset as had enough of it all.
I personally would ask for a new one as not fit for purpose..lets face it its only going to go wrong again!..im currently on hold..have been for 13 mins now..0 -
well maybe got somewere, currys sustomer service were again useless and recomended i send it in for repair, so i called tech guys asked to look up prev cases, he then said my 28 days is up tomorrow as he made the last two repairs count as one basicly after 28 days they have to refund replace, so he put a note on my case file gaveme a case number and told me to pop into the store tomorrow to ask for refund / replace
so i suppose i will have to wait and see till tomorrow, hopefully they wont try wriggling out of it fievnt he history of repairs0 -
well im happy now
they gave me a gift card loaded with £450 so i now need to decide on a new machine which is harder than i thought through fear of it happening all over again0 -

Advent
never buy one lol0 -
Advent are made by Medion, as are a great deal of other makers laptops.
The secret is in the model number.
However, as the selling company get to choose the components, so Advent choose the cheapest.Never Knowingly Understood.
