messed up mince !?

Bin it. If he'd cooked it all the way through then yes, you could have refrozen it. But half raw, half cooked is just asking for trouble. No lump of mince is worth getting serious food poisoning from, no matter how much it cost.
I agree. I'm usually pretty easy-going with food hygiene but there's no way I'd risk this - I think there's a pretty good chance you'd end up poisoning yourself. Wasting the cost of the mince has got to be better than ending up ill (possibly even in hospital), imo.Back after a very long break!0 -
I tend to have a slightly carefree attitude with food and keeping it in the manner advised on the pack (same with sell by dates etc) but that is a no no for me.
Fresh frozen is fine and cooked frozen is fine but what you have is neither. Really not worth the risk, sorry.

If you chuck that lot out in the garden you'll have every rat in the neighbourhood turning up in your garden, and hanging around looking for more. Leave it in the freezer till bin day then double-bag it and throw it out.Val.0 -
