Sad but okay. It just means that you will have to tighten the belt throughout the month but there is not a lot you can do. These things happen to most of us at some point -worst one being when you go out for a meal with people you love and care for. Try and get back on track through the month.

    All the best.

Thank you all for your hugs and words of support. I really appreciate that you took the time to reply.

It's a new day now and apart from a loaf of bread it should be a cheap day!

I will have to have a look through some stuff soon and get it on to Ebay. I have quite a few books which I might try to sell on Amazon (I've never done that so that should keep me busy!).

I have a bundle of my daughter's clothes on Ebay at the moment, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for them to get a good amount for them.

    Thanks again everyone!

    ((((hugs)))) to you all!

It is so horrible when something makes you feel like that............ still I hope you had a nice weekend in spite of that. I know you feel miserable but all you can do is move on and learn from it (How wise do I sound lol).

Glad you are feeling a bit better this morning. I have got myself into a similar predicament this week. I said I'd have a bodyshop party at my house this Tues and it seemed a great idea as I get free gifts for hosting the party. I had forgotten that I am supposed to provide drinks and nibbles and apparently I HAVE to have a choice of red or white wine, soft drinks, and virtually a buffett!!

Well I'm not doing all that. I have bought a bottle each of red and white wine, some sangria and cheap lemonade. That cost me £10 ...a quater of my food budget for the week! ... so much for saving with the free gifts!

So it does happen to all of us DFW's. It is the expectations of others that thwart our spend thrift ways but deep down I know the principles of our way of life and I'm not going to let this week's blip spoil all my good work. J have asked people to bring something to nibble or drink if they want something specific and I'll greet them all with a big smile!!!

Hope you have a good week and lots of luck with Ebay and Amazon. Amazon is so easy .. it will all be listed in no time!

  • sorry to hear about your weekend, it's hard to live up to other peoples expectations.
I've had that my whole debt life but have told friends and family and hope they understand and support me when it is important. I guess we live and learn the hard way?!

thats a really sad story :-(

but i admire your spirit - all to easy when you have guests its 'easier' just to go and spend loads of money particularly on meals

all i can say is that me and my fiancee would have loved a weekend like that :-D - so dont be too down-hearted

I hate it when that sort of thing happens. You have everything under control and then someone else basically messes it all up, without even realising.
